Chronology of Events—General Chapter Week Two
July 21
The delegates resumed their work within the commission, beginning with the
review of the petitions submitted by the Sisters prior to the General Chapter.
The commission also undertook a review of the previous actas—removing
outdated articles, modifying others, and drafting new ones to reflect the
Chapter’s current vision.
July 22
Commission work continued throughout the day. A special highlight was the
Thanksgiving Mass and joyful celebration in honor of Sr. Jeanet’s election as
Prioress General—a moment of grace and unity for the entire congregation.
July 23
The commission remained focused on its tasks. The day was also marked by a
joyful celebration of Sr. Cecilia Kim’s birthday, adding a personal and festive
spirit to the ongoing work.
July 24
The General Chapter moved into Plenary Assembly to begin the formal
presentation and votation on the proposals of the Commission on Consecrated
Life.
July 25
The General Assembly continued, with the reports from the Commission on
Formation and the Commission on Mission and Evangelization presented and voted
upon. Fittingly, the day also marked the birthday of Sr. Cristina Arceo and the Solemnity of St. James the Greater—Santiago,
patron saint of Spain. The Sisters of the Province of Spain offered a festive
lunch, filling hearts, minds, and stomachs with joy and gratitude.
July 26
The Assembly gathered once again for the presentation of the Commission on
Government’s report, moving forward with discernment and shared commitment.
July 27
The Lord’s Day — a well-deserved rest day for all. Some took the time for
personal chores such as cleaning and laundry, while others made a pilgrimage to
the Shrine of the Virgen del Camino, a parish under the care of the Dominican
Fathers. A day of quiet renewal in body and spirit.
